Wellbeing

At Moomba Park PS we believe children need to be well in order to learn.

We take wellbeing seriously and understand that positive mental and physical wellbeing is paramount to a healthy and happy life. We are a Visible Wellbeing Partner school that follows the SEARCH framework which stands for Strengths, Emotional Management, Attention and Awareness, Relationships, Coping and Habits and Goals. These strategies are learnt across the day throughout the school.

Restorative Practice

At Moomba Park PS we take a problem-solving approach to solving disputes between children and adults. This process seeks to restore the relationship between the people involved in the problem. We follow a process in which we: seek to find out what happened, how did the parties feel, who if anyone was harmed or upset by the problem and discuss the steps in how we can solve/resolve the problem. If your child is involved in a problem that requires a restorative chat, the classroom teacher or school leader will contact you to discuss how we worked to solve the problem and if any on-going strategies need to be put in place.

More information about our wellbeing practices can be found in our Student Wellbeing policy.
